Star Wars Actor Diego Luna Shares His Thoughts on Disney+ Rogue One Prequel Getting Delayed

When it was announced that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story would be getting a prequel series for Disney +, focusing on Diego Luna's Cassian Andor, fans got excited. Rogue One is one of the few Disney-made Star Wars movies that get a lot of praise from fans, toxic and non-toxic, so it is smart of LucasFilm to capitalize on that and make a series. However, the series has been in a bit of production hell due to script rewrites and COVID-19 didn't improve things.

Luna recently spoke with The Guardian and discussed how this worldwide epidemic has affected this Star Wars Disney+ series. Though the actor is fairly excited to journey back into a galaxy far, far away, Luna feels that this shouldn't be rushed into production since there are just more important things to worry about right now. Don't listen to those politicians, health is much more integral than making money.

"Shooting is starting around the world, so slowly we're going back, but there's no rush. To me, what this pandemic brought to my attention is that there [are] priorities. We have to be cautious and we have to be wise on when and how to go back."

This is a nice and well-thought answer from Luna, who clearly feels that people's safety is the number one thing to look out for. As much as we want more entertainment to keep our minds off the Coronavirus pandemic, people need to realize that there are people who make these shows and movies so they need to relax.

No one knows when the Rogue One prequel, which fans simply call Cassian Andor, will be coming to Disney+ but we hope the wait is worth it. In the meantime, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story can be enjoyed on Disney+ or purchased through digital and physical stores.
