Star Wars Comic Reveals Poe Dameron and Luke Skywalker’s Link

Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) might not be related to any of the Skywalkers, but it seems like the Resistance's ace pilot actually has a deep connection with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), the Jedi Master of legend.

Marvel released Star Wars: Empire Ascendant #1 two weeks ago, giving fans a collection of stories that take place before the events of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. To the surprise of many, one story features Poe Dameron's parents (via Screen Rant). As it turns out, Poe's parents are part of the Rebellion, and they're trying to build an important base of operations for the organization – Echo Base, on the icy planet of Hoth.

Written by Charles Soule and Luke Ross, the story "An Echo of Victory" features Poe's parents, Shara Bey and Kes Dameron. The two are trying to build Echo base for the Rebellion, finding Hoth a suitable planet for the covert operations of the organization. However, because of their limited resources, the couple find themselves caving in while boring tulles into the frozen walls of the planet. Shara and Key open up a hologram telling their young son Poe that they love him, feeling hopeless of ever being rescued from their predicament.

Luckily, the two find themselves saved by none other than Luke Skywalker and Chewbacca. If the Jedi hadn't been around, then Poe's parents would have been killed by the ice there in the planet of Hoth.

It's an interesting comic, one that helps tie Poe to the Skywalker saga.

Star Wars: Empire Ascendant is already on shelves. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is currently screening in cinemas.
