It's been nearly three years since Marvel Studios announced that a Fantastic Four reboot is finally happening but bafflingly, we've yet to get some much-needed updates regarding the First Family's Earth-616 arrival.

Over the last couple of months, there have been persistent rumors claiming that the studio has already been discussing potential actors who will ultimately make up the project's cast and it seemed like every month, the lineup changes.

If the most recent rumors are to be believed, actors like Jodie Comer and Adam Driver are said to be top contenders for the roles of Sue Storm and Reed Richards respectively. Now, a new update seems to confirm the involvement of the latter.

According to insider Daniel Richtman, the Star Wars sequel trilogy actor is in "final talks" to play Mister Fantastic in the anticipated reboot. If you may recall, Driver joined the rumor mill earlier this year but was quickly taken out of the equation, with some reports claiming he wasn't even considered.

The scooper didn't disclose when the studio could make the casting announcements. Those who have been on the MCU social media bubble long enough are well aware that Richtman has a great track record when it comes to spoilers but still, it's best to take this report with a huge grain of salt.

Shockingly enough, fans aren't thrilled with the idea of the Kylo Ren actor potentially becoming the Smartest Man Alive and most of them aren't shy to air their dismay on social media.

As it stands, fans are still being kept in the dark regarding casting announcements but we'd like to assume that the MCU's First Family will finally be introduced sometime this year.

Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four reboot is slated for theatrical release on February 14, 2025.
