Spider-Man spinoff Madame Web seems to be collecting a star-studded set for the upcoming Sony move following the first reports of Dakota Johnson starring as the titular character. Now, the American Horror Story and Scream Queen alumna Emma Robers is cast in a mystery role.
In 2019, Sony announced that the Spider-Man Universe will have a new addition and will be having a spinoff of Madame Web in a solo film with Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless as the scribes of the movie and S.J. Clarkson as the director. Targeting a 2023 release date, the movie just added another actress to join the team in a mystery role.
As reported by Deadline, Emma Roberts has been cast in an unknown role for the Spider-Man spinoff Madame Web. Roberts will be joining Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Tahar Rahim, and Isabela Merced.
The 31-year-old Emma Roberts is best known for her roles in the movies Unfabulous. Aquamarine, Wild Child, Valentine’s Day, Nancy Drew and more. Roberts also made a jump into series with starring roles in American Horror Story and bagging the lead in Scream Queens as Chanel Oberlin.

Currently, Sony’s Spider-Man Universe continues to grow with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man movies that crosses with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Tom Hardy’s Venom 1 and 2, Jared Leto’s Morbius, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Kraven the Hunter. Madame Web getting into the picture makes it more exciting.
Madame Web details still remain in the shadows aside from the story being about the origins of the titular character, a clairvoyant, who has psychic abilities to see what happens within the Spider-verse. Roberts' role remains unknown.
Madame Web is expected to hit production soon enough given that they are targeting a July 7, 2023 release date.
