Chris Evans already had a fantastic cameo in Spider-Man: Homecoming, starring as Steve Rogers shooting some PSAs. As it turns out, there was supposed to be another nod to the Cap in the film.
Some concept art has been released that shows that there was a Captain America memorial (probably in Washington), and it would have featured cap alongside his Howling Commandos:
With Steve Rogers' place in MCU history, I would be interested to see how he's been represented over the years following his disappearance. We already have the whole museum exhibit from Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but a memorial statue seems more ‘historic' if you ask me—plus it adds to the fictionalized history of the MCU.
With Chris Evans set to end his contract with Avengers 4, a lot of people are expecting Captain America to die in the next film. Though dying is one way to write the character off, I'm hoping the Russos have something more interesting in mind for the sendoff. It would be great if they would drop Steve Rogers back in the past so he would actually get to live his life with Peggy Carter. With all the sacrifices that Captain America has made, it would be great if we actually got to see him get what he wants for once.
The Avengers 4 trailer was originally set to come out today, but because it's a national day of mourning, Marvel Studios has opted to delay the release until Friday. If the fanbase can wait the whole November without a trailer drop, what're two more days?
