A new rumor revealed the surprising villain that Tom Holland might face in the highly-anticipated Spider-Man 4.
Recently, it was reported that the project is now going full steam ahead as they have tapped Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton to helm the next installment.
Fans have been looking forward to hearing more plot details about the film including how it will address the aftermath of Doctor Strange's spell in No Way Home and the villain that Spider-Man will face.
Knull Will Reportedly Be the Main Villain in Spider-Man 4
According to a recent scoop from a notable insider, Knull will likely be the main villain of Spider-Man 4. He is "seeking to enshroud the entire multiverse in his darkness following its discovery."
The character was recently teased in the final trailer of Venom: The Last Dance, suggesting that he might have a prominent role in the film.
The report claimed that it won't be a one-and-done appearance and he will be appearing in another project, most likely to be in Spider-Man 4.
They also added that Tom Hardy's Venom might also make an appearance and he will be pitting against Spider-Man. It will likely be teased in Venom: The Last Dance.
So far, Marvel Studios and Sony have not confirmed the claims made in the report so take this with a grain of salt.
If this ends up being true, it might explain why there have been rumors that the next installment will have multiversal elements and won't be a pure street-level story which is what some fans have been wanting to see.
It also looks like they are going to crossover the two Marvel universes which will be an exciting prospect for some fans as they have been clamoring to see Hardy's Venom face-off Holland's Spider-Man.
For now, let's wait and see whether this ends up being true, but perhaps we will get some clarification once we see the outcome of the events in Venom: The Last Dance.
