The trailer reveals the emergence of Ezekiel Simms, a Spider-Man-like villain who poses a huge threat in their universe. After being defeated during their initial encounter, Madame Web travels back in time to team up with Julia Carpenter and other Spider-Women to put a stop to Ezekiel's diabolical plans.

According to the villain, he must kill all three Spider-Women because of what they become in the future. The action-packed trailer also offers our first look at Julia Carpenter (Sydney Sweeney) Mattie Franklin (Celeste O’Connor) and Anya Corazon (Isabela Merced) and their respective suits which we have to say all look amazing (no pun intended)!

Let's be honest, Sony Pictures doesn't have the best track record when it comes to live-action flicks with projects like Venom and Morbius failing to replicate the success of the MCU's Spider-Man trilogy, even their own animated offerings Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

Still, Madame Web offers a ton of promise, and judging by the things we saw from the trailer, it seems like a fresh take on the Spidey mythos that would take anyone's interest without having to rely much on the Peter Parker character. Hopefully, it lives up to the hype but of course, that remains to be seen.

Madame Web hits theaters on February 14, 2024.
