Song Hye Kyo shares her honest thoughts about the mixed reaction of viewers to her comeback K-drama The Glory.
The Netflix revenge drama ended 2022 and welcomed 2023 with a bang as the 8-part episode series lands among the most-watched K-dramas.
Due to the series’ realistic story along with the powerhouse cast, there’s no denying that The Glory deserves public attention and multiple recognitions in the future.
Interestingly, Song Hye Kyo gained praise for delivering a perfect portrayal of the revenge-driven Moon Dong Eun in the Netflix series.
She gets lauded for getting out of her comfort zone and surprising viewers with her amazing performance.
However, despite the significant recognition by the public, Song Hye Kyo received criticism, especially for her looks.
At the height of The Glory, the 41-year-old star was scrutinized for looking “too old” and that she has aged a lot after appearing in her latest K-drama.
There were also reports saying that the Hallyu star has “demanded” to remove traces of her photos and videos related to the Netflix series.
In a report cited by AllKPop, rumor sparked that the actress wanted it taken down following the controversy.
“Whenever there's a bad reaction, they just take down the post. Their community management is pretty serious,” the rumor states.
However, representatives of The Glory denied the issue and clarified the aid action of removing a series of photos.
As noted by the same outlet, they released a specific video to “express” their gratitude for the viewers’ “great love for K-Content” however, the reps claimed that the said photo was removed “because it included 'The Glory' before the show premieres."
The drama official also further explained the reason why some of the photos were not shown in the final version.
“As for the show's character poster, the reps stated, "While trimming the phrase on the poster, something not in the final version went up in the process of editing and sending it back and forth. That's why it was taken down."

On the other hand, Song Hye Kyo responds to criticisms regarding her different visuals as The Glory made its premiere.

During her interview with Elle Korea, the Hallyu star shared that playing Moon Dong Eun requires a specific look.
Since she had a difficult life, it has to reflect on her physical features to look the character, realistic.
“I didn't think it would make sense at all if she appears as if she has received a lot of care and treatment,” she said, slamming the haters who bashed her appearance.
“People say that 'Song Hye Kyo' has also suddenly aged a lot, but that is because I, too, of course, I have gotten old,” she said.
Interestingly, fans defended the actress and pointed out that she just aged naturally.
What’s next for Song Hye Kyo After The Glory Season 2?
Slated to be released on March 10, The Glory season 2 will feature the majority of the cast reprising their roles.
It includes Song Hye Kyo, Lee Do Hyun, Im Ji Yeon, Park Sung Hoon, Jung Sung Il, Yeom Hye Ran and more.
After the revenge series, the Hallyu star will have a new series alongside Han So Hee as the duo will headline the new drama The Price of Confession.
