Rachel Zegler’s new project, Evita, appears to be heading down the same unfortunate path Snow White faced at the box office, as only a few tickets have been sold despite the showing date drawing near.

After Snow White’s commercial and critical failure, Zegler had the chance to start anew with her latest theater musical venture. However, it seems that Snow White’s negative reception continues to affect her career even now.

Rachel Zegler’s Snow White is not Disney’s proudest moment, as it suffered from numerous controversies even before its release and performed poorly during its theatrical run.

The revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s 1978 musical, Evita, runs for 12 weeks starting June 14 at the London Palladium. Directed by Jamie Lloyd, the show stars the 23-year-old Zegler as Eva Perón, a young Argentine actress and political activist.

For those who don’t know, the play features the iconic “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina,” originally recorded by Julie Covington. Zegler’s Instagram post in March, where she promotes the musical, expresses her excitement for Evita's upcoming opening.

According to The Daily Mail, however, the play is currently experiencing low ticket sales, with only a few seats reportedly occupied.

The tickets are priced starting at just £35.40 each for the London Palladium’s 2,286 seats. Given how many slots remain available across June, July, August, and September, Evita appears to be on track for the same outcome Snow White had.

Rachel Zegler Is Lying Low After Snow White Remake Disaster

Zegler has been spotted in New York going about her daily routine, such as walking her dog Lenny and taking him to the vet for check-ups.

She’s also only been updating her fans on social media about her everyday life and has steered clear of any statements that could potentially spark controversies, such as those that surfaced months before the Snow White premiere.

The Snow White remake has been criticized for both its production and cast, and it has become one of the worst-rated Disney films featuring a Disney princess.

Zegler has also been called out for her “woke” comments about the original Snow White, including describing it as “weird” and referring to Prince Charming as a stalker. Her stance on the Israel-Palestine conflict and remarks about the current U.S. President Donald Trump also did not help her case, as individuals on the opposing side opted to boycott the film.

The film had a $270 million budget and grossed only $194.6 million in total, which is far from its $500 million break-even goal.
