Of every single Disney live-action film that came to life, Rachel Zegler's Snow White may have faced the most controversies ahead of its theatrical release. From racist comments to its terrible costume design, the live-action adaptation's reception is not looking all that good.

Committing an animated flick to a live-action adaptation is bad enough, but the Snow White remake trailer roped mixed fan reactions to the edge.

Not only are fans disturbed by the CGI actors cast as dwarves, but the production value and design overall didn't scream 'dreamy Disney' as much as its past Disney princesses' live remakes.

While Disney has yet to address why they chose to use CGI over actual actors for the role of hardworking dwarves, it may have something to do with Game of Thrones' Peter Dinklage's former comment on the matter.

At the time, the 55-year-old actor criticized Disney for its "backward story" of having an updated Latina Snow White but still showing "seven dwarfs" as a part of its plotline.

Unfortunately, fans thought it was more unfair to see how Disney didn't opt to hire actors for the roles and leaned more on special effects, negating good marketing for the remake even more.

Similar to how the news broke about Halle Bailey playing the live remake Ariel, Shazam! and The Hunger Games star Rachel Zegler faced racist comments over being cast as the titular "white as snow" princess in 2021.

The Polish-Colombian actress responded by saying she "truly did not want to see it" and went on to say that the Snow White live remake will be different from the "extremely dated" animation.

"[Snow]'s not going to be dreaming about true love," Zegler set the record straight, implying that Snow will "become the leader she knows she can be" given how "fearless, fair, brave, and true" she will be in this flick.

What irked fans more was the treatment that the movie had done with Snow White. Apart from the misguided interpretation of the animated classic, the less-than-stellar trailer offered nothing new than its format.
