Showtime's Halo Series Might Come Out in 2020, Master Chief Confirmed to Appear

After months of waiting, Showtime has decided to release some details about their upcoming Halo series. Based on the ridiculously popular first-person shooter series exclusive to Xbox systems and PC, fans have been waiting for updates on this ever since the movie announced a few years ago was canceled. We now know a number of new details, including when it might be coming out and who one of the leads will be.

Showtime executives spoke to the Television Critics Association on Monday (via Slash Film) and unveiled a number of interesting details about the upcoming show. Kyle Killen will write it while Rupert Wyatt is going to direct and the series might be coming out in 2020, due to the amount of work they're going to do.

Master Chief will be one of the series' protagonists, which should make longtime fans of the franchise very happy. Since the character never talks in any of the games, the producers have admitted that it will be challenging to make him a tv lead.

However, the show will not be based on any of the game's stories and the showrunners will be working on a brand-new storyline, which might be a sore point for some fans.

Considering how the creators are hoping that the series will be coming out in 2020, it's clear that we won't be seeing Halo for some time. No actors have been announced either.
