Shazam! is set to come out this April, and DC is admittedly keeping a tight lid on the movie, holding back a full trailer that was promised in the New Year. Too bad for them, the lid isn't too tight with toy reveals, and some figures already on shelves give us a look at some of the Seven Deadly Sins and, get this… the entire Shazam family.
Check it out:
In the comics, Billy isn't the only character granted with powers, and the other kids in his foster home have also been granted special abilities as well. The team includes Freddy (Blue), Darla (Purple), Mary (Red), Pedro (Green), and Eugene (Black).
What's interesting is, each of the members of the Shazam family has special abilities of their own when it comes to the comics. Darla has speed, Pedro super strength, and Eugene can manipulate technology. Freddy is basically a younger version of the original Shazam, and Mary is her own type of Marvel, with a different set of patrons, namely: Selene (grace), Hippolyte (strength), Ariadne (skill), Zephyrus (swiftness), Aurora (beauty) and Minerva (wisdom).
Too bad the toys actually spoiled the inclusion of the rest of the Marvel family because the trailers have been doing a great job in keeping them a secret. Hopefully, they manage to keep this one until the movie comes out because I can imagine the collective gasp of the audience already when Billy's entire foster family ends up with powers.
Shazam! comes out April 5.
