Oscar-nominated actress Sharon Stone claimed recently that she was unexpectedly cut from the upcoming film Another Simple Favor.
The highly-anticipated sequel to A Simple Favor will bring back Anna Kendrick's Stephanie Smothers and Blake Lively's Emily Nelson in another twisted mystery that takes place in Capri, Italy alongside a new batch of characters.
Sharon Stone Says She Was Unexpectedly Removed from Another Simple Favor Cast
In her comment to an Instagram reel post regarding the film, Stone shared that she was "unexpectedly" cut from Another Simple Favor.
"I LOVED being cast and removed from my role unexpectedly for no reason at all LOVED it," the actress wrote alongside four clapping emojis.
Stone didn't reveal any reason why she was removed from the film or the role that she was supposed to play.
During the making of the film, there were no reports that Stone was cast in the project, nor were there any known rumors at that time that she was going to be involved.
So far, none of the people involved in the making of Another Simple Favor have commented on Stone's claims and explained why she was cut from the sequel.
The film had its world premiere last week at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival in Austin, Texas, ahead of its debut on Prime Video this May. Blake Lively, who is in the midst of a legal drama against Justin Baldoni, was in attendance at the event.
It was announced recently that Stone has joined the cast of Euphoria season 3, which is currently in production.
What is Another Simple Favor About?
Another Simple Favor is the sequel to the beloved 2018 film A Simple Favor. Lively, Kendrick, Henry Golding, Andrew Rannells, and Bashir Salahuddin are reprising their roles from the first movie.
The follow-up sees Stephanie Smothers (Kendrick) and Emily Nelson (Lively) reunite on the beautiful island of Capri, Italy, for Emily’s extravagant wedding to a rich Italian businessman.
Along with the glamorous guests, expect murder and betrayal to RSVP for a wedding with more twists and turns than the road from the Marina Grande to the Capri town square.
The film is slated to release on Prime Video globally this May 1.
