She then had a recurring role on Little House on the Prairie and did voice-over work for the animated movie The Secret of NIMH.
As a teen, she did Girls Just Want to Have Fun, followed by Our House and Magnum P.I.

Doherty’s first major movie role was Heather in the 1988 Heathers. She then gained international prominence when she did Beverly Hills, 90210.

She was also part of the TV series Charmed and hosted the candid-camera show Scare Tactics. Come 2006, she produced her own reality show Breaking Up with Shannen Doherty.

Shannen Doherty, Kurt Iswarienko Split
Doherty and Kurt Iswarienko have broken up, People reported.
The actress reportedly filed for divorce from her now ex-husband after 11 years of marriage.
"Divorce is the last thing Shannen wanted," Doherty's rep, Leslie Sloane, told the outlet in a statement. "Unfortunately, she felt she was left with no other option."
The spokesman added that her ex’s agent was “intimately involved” with their separation.

In the divorce filing obtained by TMZ, the former couple had already parted ways in January.
Doherty wants to have spousal support and not award it to Iswarienko.
Meanwhile, Doherty shared a cryptic post on Instagram after the news of her divorce hit the news.
"The only people who deserve to be in your life are the ones who treat you with love, kindness and total respect," it read.
Doherty and Iswarienko tied the knot in October 2011. The pair doesn’t have kids.
