All You Need to Know about the Senpai Is an Otokonoko Anime
Senpai Is an Otokonoko is a new anime by Project No. 9, the anime studio behind shows such as Bottom-tier Character Tomozaki, My Tiny Senpai, and A Girl & Her Guard Dog.
This new anime is a school romance that follows Makoto Hanaoka, a high school boy who dresses up as a girl. At school, his classmate Saki Aoi thinks Makoto is a girl and soon confesses her feelings.
Makoto then reveals that he is a boy, though Saki surprisingly doesn’t mind. Soon, a love triangle develops involving another classmate of theirs named Ryuji Taiga.
The anime’s title is a direct reference to the story as otokonoko is a Japanese word used to describe men who express their identity as feminine. Translated, the word means “male daughter.”
