Deadline recently confirmed that Stan is currently in talks to play a major role in The Batman Part II. However, the details regarding his character are under wraps.
As everyone knows, the Oscar-nominated actor is known for playing Bucky Barnes in the MCU and is still part of the franchise to this day, considering that he will be seen again in Avengers: Doomsday and, potentially, Avengers: Secret Wars.
He will be the second MCU vet to join the cast after Scarlett Johansson, who is also confirmed to have a major role in the DC sequel.
Since news came that Stan is in talks for the sequel, fans have been speculating which iconic Batman character he might play, with most of the consensus predicting that he will likely play Harvey Dent, given his physical stature, which is ideal for the character.
So far, neither Matt Reeves nor Stan has commented on the reports about the actor's casting in the sequel, but the news has excited a lot of fans of both Marvel and DC.
This has also prompted questions on whether Stan will still appear in Avengers: Secret Wars, given that both projects will be in production at the same time. However, it should be noted that they are reportedly filming in the UK, so that should not cause any scheduling issues for Stan.

Matt Reeves is back to direct the film and co-write the script with Mattson Tomlin. Production will begin in the spring of 2026. It is set for theatrical release on October 1, 2027.
