Scarlett Johansson has been one of the highest-paid actresses in the world for more than a decade. With this success, she has a huge net worth to her name.

From a young girl who has dreamed of becoming an actress someday, Scarlett Johansson is now one of the most famous stars there is. How did she make it? Read on.

The Start of Scarlett Johansson

It has been the 37-year-old actress’ lifelong dream to become an actress, so she did something about it. She enrolled at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute and the Professional Children’s School as a child to hone her skills, per Celebrity Net Worth.

Her hard work paid off and she debuted in 1994 in the fantasy comedy North. From here, she did minor roles in Just Cause in 1995, working with some of the best in Hollywood, like Sean Connery, followed by If Lucy Fell and Manny & Lo all in the same year.

However, she earned wider attention in the 1998 movie, The Horse Whisperer, receiving Chicago Film Critics Association Award for Most Promising Actress nomination. She then started to make mature roles, like the iconic 2003 film Lost in Translation, opposite Bill Murray, making her a Golden Globe nominee and winning a BAFTA.

From one nominated role to another, Scarlett Johansson did The Girl with the Pearl Earring, followed by a number of more films. She even worked with the likes of Woody Allen in the 2005 Match Point, 2006 Scoop and 2008 Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

She also does several films outside of MCU that are also successful, like The Black Dahlia, Lucy, Marriage Story, Jojo Rabbit and voiced acting in Her, Isle of Dogs and The Jungle Book.

In case fans didn’t know, Ryan Reynolds’ former wife also did several stage productions and debuted on Broadway in 2010. In fact, she won the 2010 Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play for doing the revival of A View from the Bridge.

She also released a few albums, like the 2008 Anywhere I Lay My Head and the 2009 Break Up.

The Earnings of Scarlett Johansson

SCMP revealed Scarlett Johansson only received $400,000 when she first played the role of Black Widow in Iron Man 2. However, it dramatically grew to $15 million when she did Infinity War and Endgame.

She then got $20 million for her first solo Black Widow movie. However, she was hoping to receive more. She reportedly expected more—about $50 million of it—that led her to sue Disney+ due to simultaneous streaming and box office release.
