There's growing uncertainty about whether or not DC fans will respond exuberantly to The Flash, a project that is top-billed by the ever-so-controversial Ezra Miller. Shockingly enough, it seems like the entire DC fandom is now invested in the upcoming film, especially after seeing the latest trailer which premiered during last week's Super Bowl LVII.

There's no denying that fans were incredibly hyped for Michael Keaton's Batman portrayal but what created unexpected buzz is Sasha Calle's Supergirl. Following the release of the mind-blowing teaser, fans raved about the 27-year-old actress despite only seeing her in action for merely seconds.

However, you shouldn't get too attached to her portrayal of Kara Zor-El because according to a new report, Calle isn't part of James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Universe plans.

The folks over at Geekosity report that Calle's deal as Supergirl is one and done despite the fans' roaring approval of her portrayal. While the studio is confirmed to be working on a solo Supergirl film which draws huge inspiration from Tom King's Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Sasha isn't expected to be the actress to get cast as the DCU's Girl of Steel.

WB Discovery previously had plans to give Sasha her own film but the project was scrapped when Gunn and Safran took over.

It's worth noting though that out of the DCU slate Gunn and Safran presented, only two projects are currently in production — Creature Commandos and Superman: Legacy. This still leaves the door wide open for Sasha to potentially reprise the part in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow but of course, it all boils down to the reception of the fans and critics when The Flash finally comes out.

The Flash hits cinemas on June 16, 2023.
