Christmas comes early, as the release date of the SANDA anime adaptation is set to be announced soon.

The anime will be animated by Science SARU, the same studio that will bring the highly anticipated DAN DA DAN anime this fall.

Science SARU to Produce SANDA Anime Adaptation

DAN DA DAN’s studio, Science SARU, is set to produce the anime adaptation of Paru Itagaki’s SANDA manga series.

An official website for the upcoming anime has opened, in addition to an official X (formerly Twitter) account that posted the official announcement and first key visual of the SANDA anime, as shown below:

There’s no official word on the main cast and staff of the anime series, except for its animation studio, so fans will have to stay tuned for more updates and information in the coming weeks.

Paru Itagaki’s SANDA manga series has ended after releasing 14 volumes, so fans are hopeful that the anime will possibly be listed as a complete adaptation just like Mashle: Magic and Muscles.

SANDA Anime Release Date Predictions

The exact release date of the SANDA anime adaptation is not yet confirmed, and it looks like it’s still in its early development stages as only a key visual has been unveiled as of writing.

Based on previous releases and the typical cycle of anime productions, the SANDA anime adaptation is most likely to come out a year or two from now.

If that’s the case, it’s possible to see the first episode of the anime sometime in mid-2025 or early 2026, depending on the production's pacing.

Should the production be well underway, then the SANDA anime could arrive earlier than expected.

Paru Itagaki’s SANDA series is set in fictional Japan in 2080 when Santa Claus has been sealed by a curse.

On December 25, 14-year-old student Sanda Kazushige began to experience peculiar events. From his classmate Fuyumura attacking him with a knife to the sudden snowfall, Sanda’s day is anything but ordinary.

As it turns out, Sanda is Santa Claus’ descendant, and his abilities are sealed by a curse.

Thanks to Fuyumura, who wants to make a wish to Santa, Sanda’s true form is finally unleashed!
