Ryan Reynolds has petitioned once again for Wesley Snipes to star in another Blade movie following his return in Deadpool & Wolverine.
The legendary actor notably returned as the Daywalker in the recent MCU film to the delight of many fans who have been wanting to see him reprise the role after 20 years. His appearance was also heavily rumored before the film premiered.
While Marvel Studios has no plans to do another Snipes-led Blade movie as they are working on their own MCU reboot with Mahershala Ali, Reynolds has pushed the idea of Snipes starring in a Logan-style Blade movie.
Ryan Reynolds Begs for Marvel to Do Another Wesley Snipes Blade Movie
In his recent post on Instagram, Reynolds shared another batch of behind-the-scenes photos of Snipes working on the set of Deadpool & Wolverine.
The actor took note of the rapturous response to Snipes' return in his caption and petitioned that he should star in another Blade movie.
"The reaction when @realwesleysnipes enters the movie is the most intense thing l’ve heard in a theater. People screaming with uninhibited joy and love is also the sound of a legacy. More Blade please. #DayWalker," the actor wrote.
While some fans would have loved to see another solo Blade movie with Snipes, it is highly unlikely at this point that it will happen as Marvel Studios is more eager to introduce the MCU version of the Daywalker.
You could also argue that, while Snipes' return as Blade was celebrated, the hype might be too niche since the Blade trilogy was not consistently beloved and there could be a recency bias on why there are fans who are supportive of this idea.
For now, let's wait and see whether it does end up happening at some point, but it would not be surprising if it won't reach anything beyond the petition.
Deadpool & Wolverine is showing in theaters everywhere.
