Rurouni Kenshin (2023) Synopsis
The plot of Rurouni Kenshin (2023) is based on Nobuhiko Watsuki's original Rurouni Kenshin main manga series, which was published in 1994.
The anime is set in the age of restoration, following the violent era of Bakumatsu.
At the time, a legendary swordsman and Ishin assassin known only as the Hitokiri Battousai vanished without a trace, only to reappear as the wandering swordsman, Kenshin Himura.
Kenshin Himura has put his past behind him in order to fulfill his vow of protecting the weak without killing. This is to atone for his sin of killing many people during the Bakumatsu period.
Now, Kenshin resides at a kenjutsu dojo run by a fiery woman named Kaoru Kamiya and is soon surrounded by newfound friends.
It is now up to Kenshin to protect his new life and friends. Will he be able to put his past behind him and keep his promise of not killing anyone?
