The lone rooster that saves humanity is coming to life, as the anime adaptation of Shu Sakuratani’s Rooster Fighter action comedy manga is finally confirmed.
It’s time for anime fans to meet humanity’s last hope—someone who’s not scared of mutant demons roaming around the world.

Rooster Fighter Officially Gets Anime Adaptation
Viz Media gladly announced the anime adaptation of Shu Sakuratani’s Rooster Fighter (Niwatori Fighter) manga in collaboration with Hero’s Inc. at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.
A promotional visual for the anime has been posted on the official X (formerly Twitter) account of Rooster Fighter, featuring Keiji, Chik, and the White Demon, as shown below:
Series creator Shu Sakuratani also drew an illustration to celebrate the anime news:
“Rooster Fighter is finally being made into an anime! Ever since becoming a manga artist, my biggest goal has been to have my work adapted into an anime. So, I can’t tell you how happy I am to see my dream come true!", Sakuratani tells Viz Media.
Meanwhile, Daisuke Suzuki (D4DJ All Mix) is revealed to be directing the anime at SANZIGEN, while Hiroshi Seko (Jujutsu Kaisen, Mob Psycho 100) is in charge of the series’ composition.
Rooster Fighter Anime Release Date Predictions
The exact release date of the Rooster Fighter anime is not yet confirmed, but it’s likely to be announced by the end of the year.
It usually takes a year or two before a new anime gets released, but based on the promotional materials so far, it looks like production is already well underway.
If so, then the Rooster Fighter anime could arrive sometime in 2025, most likely in the middle of the year or later.
Adult Swim to Air Rooster Fighter Anime
It has been announced that Adult Swim will air the Rooster Fighter anime worldwide, while Viz Media will reveal additional streaming partners at a later date.
Adult Swim previously aired the original action anime Ninja Kamui and is now gearing up to air the upcoming Rick and Morty anime rendition.
There’s no word from Crunchyroll, HIDIVE, Netflix, or any other streaming platforms at the moment, so stay tuned for further updates.
Meet Keiji: Humanity’s Last Hope in Rooster Fighter
The series revolves around Keiji, a self-described “migratory bird” who roams the wild lands, fighting one mutant demon after another in search of the “White Demon” who murdered his sister.
Unlike any other chicken or rooster, though, Keiji has a lot of unique abilities, such as the phenomenon of resonance, which he uses against gigantic opponents to defeat them.
Keiji has a strict code of conduct regarding respect and appreciation, which contributes to his overall charisma.
