The 62-year-old was the first woman of color and openly LGBT woman to become Jeopardy! host.
She started as a sports anchor for local TV and radio stations. She was ESPN’s sportscaster for 15 years, from 1990 to 2005. From there, she became Good Morning America’s co-anchor in 2005.

Robin Roberts Announced Marriage Plans
Roberts finally announced her plans to marry her longtime girlfriend, Laign, on Good Morning America Monday, January 2, this year.
“I’m saying yes to marriage. We’re getting married this year,” the news anchor told author and motivational speaker, Gabrielle Bernstein
However, she admitted she was hesitant to share the news as she hadn’t “said it out loud yet.”
She continued that they used to talk about marriage in the past but decided to “put it off” after Laign, who’s the Plant Juice Oils co-founder, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021.

She finally completed radiation therapy in July 2022.
Bernstein encouraged Roberts to “create a wedding vision board” during her announcement, but the latter seemed nervous, fanning herself with the note cards.
“I can’t believe I said that,” she quipped about revealing the “next chapter” of her life with Laign.
The two started dating in 2005. However, Roberts, also a breast cancer survivor, didn’t publicly come out as gay until December 2013.
