Ariana Grande is mourning the death of her grandmother, Marjorie "Nonna" Grande.
As most fans of the singer are aware, her Nonna has been a supportive presence in her career from the beginning and has frequently been featured on her Instagram feed. Her voice recordings were also included in some of Grande's iconic songs.
How Did Ariana Grande Mourn the Passing of Her Nonna?
Grande shared a post on her Instagram Story announcing the passing of Marjorie "Nonna" Grande at the age of 99.
"We are devastated to share that the beloved matriarch of our family has passed away. Marjorie (Nonna) Grande passed peacefully in her home and was surrounded by her family and loved ones for every moment of her last few weeks," the statement said.
"We thank you for your love, support, and for respecting our privacy as we grieve and celebrate her beautiful, extraordinary life."
Grande also posted a wedding photo of her late grandparents on Instagram with the caption, "forever."
Ariana's brother Frankie also mourned Nonna's passing in a statement.
"You always called me the apple of your eye, Nonna and you have always been mine. A best friend. My safe place. I love you endlessly, my sweet Nonna. I miss you more than words can hold. My heart is shattered, but I feel you watching over me, already so proud of everything I’ve done and all that is about to come," he wrote.
Last year, Nonna made history as the most senior artist to appear on the Billboard Hot 100 due to Ariana's song "Ordinary Things," which credited her as a featured artist.

A lot of fans of Grande (aka Arianators) also paid tribute to Nonna after the news of her passing was announced.
They celebrated her life and influence on the singer and noted how she managed to watch her granddaughter play Glinda in Wicked last year. They also expressed their condolences to Ariana and the Grande family.
