The Rings of Power Season 2: Exploring the Episode Release Schedule
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is coming back with a three-episode premiere on Thursday, August 29. While the first season released a total of 11 episodes, the second season cut it down to 8.
Season 2 explores where Sauron, aka the traitor who revealed himself to be the Dark Lord, and the brave female warrior Galadriel left off from the season 1 finale.
It remains to be seen as to why the show had to be shortened, but for now, here's the episode release date schedule for the eight incoming episodes.
Well, ahead of the premiere of the second season, the official The Rings of Power on Prime account on X posted the complete schedule of when episodes air on the streamer:
- Premiere: Episode 1 — August 29
- Premiere: Episode 2 — August 29
- Premiere: Episode 3 — August 29
- Episode 4 — September 5
- Episode 5 — September 12
- Episode 6 — September 19
- Episode 7 — September 26
- Episode 8 — October 3
As for the exact time that fans can begin streaming the premiere of The Rings of Power season 2, the first three episodes air on Prime Video on Thursday, August 29 at 3 AM ET / 12 AM PT / 8 AM BST.
Apart from the highly anticipated telling of the origins behind forging the titular Rings of Power, we'll be seeing Galadriel hunt down Sauron, upon searching for a concluding journey after the betrayal she felt when he revealed himself to be the Dark Lord rather than her deceitful companion called Halbrand.
As Middle-Earth is vast enough to explore side stories and quests, season 2 would also include the continuation of Elrond and Durin's attempt to mend the bond between elves and dwarves, and The Stranger's true identity (whether or not he is actually Gandalf in disguise), to mention a few.
