Impressively, Top Gun: Maverick dethroned several blockbuster films like Marvel Studios' Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Warner Bros.' The Batman. Now, the film secured the spot for 2022's highest-grossing film with a global box office receipt accumulating a total of $1.3 billion. Top Gun: Maverick is also the first film of the year to cross the $1 billion mark at the global box office.
