Fans are now waiting to see who the new batch of girl groups will join Queendom Season 2. Rumors have it Mnet is already in talks with some female idols, though nothing is confirmed yet.
News emerge Mnet met with ITZY, Brave Girls, Kep1er and VIVIZ. Is there any truth about it? Will fans see these girl groups in Queendom Season 2?
Queendom Season 2 Possible Participants
According to AllKpop, industry insiders revealed the network’s production staff had met with the said girl groups. In fact, Mnet itself confirmed the news.
"It's true that we have contacted many girl groups,” it said. “However, nothing is currently confirmed."
Queendom Season 2 is reportedly in its final stages of negotiations and confirming various details to finalize its line-up. Its official filming is expected to begin in the middle of this month as it’s set to be out in March.
Two Possible Girl Groups Joining Queendom Season 2
The show’s first season began in 2019. It was then followed by a boy group version of the series in 2021, titled Kingdom. Now, Mnet is eyeing to launch the comeback of another female K-pop group.
Netizens now have their own bets on who could join Queendom Season 2. One of the two groups they think of is Dreamcatcher.
The septet is well-known for its distinct dark concept, rock sound, and elaborate stage and performance skills, per Koreaboo. Debuted in 2017, they already have extensive choreography.

With these good qualities, fans believe they will be a perfect addition to Queendom Season 2.
Alternatively, the next group fans want to see in the series is Weki Meki. The eight-member group also debuted in 2017 and has an excellent skill set to win the series.
They can effortlessly blow the viewers away with their incredible performance. Coupled with their great choreography, powerful vocals and unbelievable rap skills, they truly have what it takes to be the next Queendom Season 2 grand winner.
Weki Meki also has the versatility that fans truly love and they can show it off through the series’ different concepts.

Meanwhile, the first season of Queendom featured a star-studded line-up of female idols, like Park Bom, AOA, MAMAMOO, Lovelyz, Oh My Girl and (G)I-DLE. They all battled to make a perfect comeback.
The show’s success led to the birth of a couple of spinoffs, such as Road to Kingdom and Kingdom: Legendary War.
Now, fans will once again see a new batch of female groups trying their luck to return to the limelight in Queendom Season 2, which will be out on March 31 at 9:20 p.m. KST. Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon will host the new season.
