Even though Clash Landing on You (CLOY) was released in 2019, it's still one of the best-loved K-dramas of this generation. So much so that there are CLOY references in the ongoing Queen of Tears drama.

CLOY References in Queen of Tears (So Far)
Avid CLOY fans are rejoicing with the small Queen of Tears CLOY references they've seen in just the first few episodes of the show. While there aren't too many (yet), they are easy to spot and identify.
The first CLOY reference spotted in Queen of Tears was the beautiful set-up in the wedding scene.
Some are even suggesting that Queen of Tears drew inspiration behind the real-life wedding of CLOY stars Hyun-Bin and Son Ye-Jin.
Speaking of their real-life wedding, the romance between the two actors was mentioned in Queen of Tears episode 4.
As Baek Hyun-Woo (played by Kim Soo-Hun) eats out with his friend, his friend warns him:
“That’s dangerous you know? Even actors fall in love while filming romantic scenes, look at Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin.”
Another CLOY reference we've seen in Queen of Tears was the scene where Kim Sun-Hwa (played by Na Young-Hee) and Hong Soo-Cheol (played by Kwak Dong-Yeon) watched Crash Landing on You on their gigantic TV.

Explaining the Queen of Tears CLOY References
So what is up with all of these CLOY references? The simplest reason behind this is that both K-dramas were written by Park Ji-Eun.
Ji-Eun even gained an idea for the conglomerate owned by the Hongs in Queen of Tears after Queens Group, a large conglomerate in CLOY.

Will CLOY Stars Make a Cameo in Queen of Tears?
Because of his long-standing friendship with the screenwriter, Soo-Hyun made a cameo appearance in CLOY.
Although Ji-Eun did not create his Secretly, Greatly character, Soo-Hyun reprised this role from the action K-Drama.
Because of this, avid fans are hoping that the real-life CLOY couple would make a cameo appearance in Queen of Tears too. Right now, however, this remains a mystery. But it won't be impossible, right?
