Queen Elizabeth will soon celebrate her Platinum Jubilee, and royal fans couldn’t help but wonder whether she would make an appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
Since the queen is already 96 years old and her health has been declining because of her age, there are predictions that she might skip the balcony appearance with the other members of the royal family.
These predictions aren’t necessarily unfounded. After all, the queen has been canceling her royal engagements at the last minute. In fact, she has been relying more and more on the other members of the British clan, most especially Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William, and Kate Middleton.
Queen Elizabeth Will Definitely Make A Balcony Appearance On Her Platinum Jubilee
On his YouTube channel, royal expert Neil Sean said that the queen will definitely make an appearance on the balcony during her Platinum Jubilee celebration.
“What I am assured is that whatever happens, Her Majesty The Queen sees this [the balcony appearance] as a basic thing that she would wish to do for the Commonwealth, for her public, for her subjects. She really wants to make sure that we get the opportunity to see her on this very special and auspicious occasion. She knows, above all else, that no one else will do to take her place on that day. Some might say, of course, is two people over in California who jump at the opportunity to jump on the balcony so that alone, I truly believe, will be the spur for Her Majesty to make sure on that day, she makes it to Buckingham Palace,” he said (via Express).

Royal Experts Convinced That Queen Elizabeth’s Balcony Appearance Isn’t Guaranteed
But just last week, multiple sources claimed that Queen Elizabeth could skip her balcony appearance because of her mobility issues. According to Daily Mail, palace aides are busy devising a plan B since the queen’s appearance on the balcony is not guaranteed.
“It could still happen but it is by no means guaranteed that we will see the Queen on the balcony during the Jubilee,” the source said.
Other than the queen, there are also questions as to whether certain members of the royal family will also make an appearance on the balcony. For one, royal fans are divided when it comes to Prince Andrew, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle attending the event.
Prince Andrew, Prince Edward Upset With The Queen’s Golden Jubilee Decision
In 2002, the royal family was reportedly embroiled in a disagreement after the queen invited only a few members of the British clan to her Golden Jubilee. At the time, Prince Charles, Camilla, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Prince Harry were the only people invited to make an appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony.
A source claimed that Prince Andrew and Prince Edward were enraged by the queen’s decision. So, the Duke of York’s aide asked that the brothers be reinstated because they reportedly felt excluded.
Last month, it was revealed that the queen invited Prince Harry and Markle to attend her Platinum Jubilee in June. And if the couple decides to attend, they will most likely join everyone on the balcony because they are still part of the royal family.
