Queen Camilla reportedly won't mind not marrying King Charles. She is also not after becoming a queen but probably changed her heart, a report says.
Queen Camilla Doesn't Want To Be A Queen?
Petronella Wyatt claimed that Queen Camilla would be happy not to have married His Majesty. However, she might have had a change of heart later in life.
"Marriage wasn't on the agenda as far as HM was concerned," a source said, Daily Mail reported. "She was having none of it and, conscious that Charles would one day be King and Supreme Governor of the Church of England, wanted him to finish with her."
She reportedly relented when the campaign making her wife of the then-Prince of Wales' wife became successful.
When Camilla and King Charles got married, the palace announced that she would not be queen and would only be princess consort, and it was reportedly fine with her because she didn't want to become queen.
"Friends and family know it is not something she wants – she has said as much," a source said, New Idea reported.
"She is in this position because of her love of the man, not because of her desire to be anything more than a support to him. The whole business of his accession is something she dreads and, in her inimitable way, is choosing not to think about."
Did Queen Camilla Campaign For Her Marriage To Prince Charles?
In Prince Harry's interview with Anderson Cooper for 60 Minutes, the Duke of Sussex talked about his stepmother. He called Camilla a "villain" for being the third person of his parents Princess Diana and King Charles' marriage. He also shared that Camilla campaigned for her wedding to their dad, and he and Prince William were against King Charles marrying his second wife.
"We didn't think it was necessary," Prince Harry explained when Cooper asked why he didn't want his father, King Charles, to marry Queen Camilla.
"We thought that it was gonna cause more harm than good. And that if he was now with his person, that surely, that's enough. Why go that far, when you don't necessarily need to."
The Duke of Sussex also claimed that Camilla was dangerous because she needed to "rehabilitate" her image. She was dubbed a mistress following her affair with King Charles when she was still married to Andrew Parker Bowles and he to Princess Diana.
"Because of the connections that she was forging within the British press. And there was open willingness on both sides to trade of information. And with a family built on hierarchy, and with her, on the way to being Queen Consort, there was gonna be people or bodies left in the street because of that," he said of Camilla.
"If you are led to believe, as a member of the family, that being on the front page, having positive headlines, positive stories written about you, is going to improve your reputation or increase the chances of you being accepted as monarch by the British public, then that's what you're gonna do."
