Princess Beatrice has reportedly vacated a significant role under King Charles' reign. Prince Andrew's eldest daughter was promoted to be among the Counsellors of State, but a royal expert claimed that she had already ruled herself out of undertaking the role.

Princess Beatrice Snubbed King Charles By Ditching This Royal Role?

Princess Beatrice and Queen Consort Camilla were promoted to join Prince William, Prince Harry and Prince Andrew as Counsellors of State after King Charles ascended the throne. However, less than two months under the new king's reign, Princess Eugenie's sister had ruled herself out from her new duty, according to Daily Express Royal Correspondent Richard Palmer.

The Counsellors of State are members of His Majesty's Privy Council, enabling them to attend Privy Council meetings, sign routine documents and represent the king. However, three of the current Counsellors of State — the Duke of Sussex, Duke of York, and Princess Beatrice are reportedly unable to do the job.

"We now have a new top five in line for the throne," Palmer said, Express reported. "We have a wife of the monarch, Queen Camilla, who is eligible to be Counsellor of State. And you also have William, Harry, Andrew and Beatrice - but those last three, none of them undertake sufficient duties to take the role."

Palmer added that it was "a bit weird" that Princess Beatrice was given the role because she is not a working royal. Also, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson's firstborn was reportedly not keen on being a working royal.

"I mean, Beatrice, when she was still a student, said she didn't want a life of ribbon-cutting, she wanted to have a career," Palmer added.

Princess Beatrice Moving To Another Country?

Prior to the report that Princess Beatrice had already ruled herself out as one of the Counsellors of State, New Idea claimed that she and her husband, Edo Mapelli Mozzi, are planning to relocate to Queensland's Gold Coast.

Edo's property development and architecture company Banda Property unveiled 28 luxury residences in the area. Princess Beatrice reportedly wanted to live in one of the houses.

"Edo is justifiably proud of his company's work and is keen to go and experience it," an anonymous source said. "He was thinking a working holiday might be good for them – but Bea wants to go one step further and actually move there. And the sooner the better!"

It remains unclear if Princess Beatrice's rumored move was among the reasons why she reportedly ruled herself out from her newest role in the monarchy. The insider claimed that she also wanted to move out because King Charles was planning to slim down the monarchy and edge them out.

"Beatrice is feeling a bit unmoored," the insider added. "She has a half-finished country house, no royal property and a young family. Keeping one of those magnificent residences for themselves to spend the UK winter in Australia's summer seems like a no-brainer for her."
