Prince William and Kate Middleton have been married for almost 11 years. And their relationship has inspired millions of couples across the globe. After all, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are still madly in love with each other. And it seems their relationship keeps on getting stronger and better by the day.
One of the traits that Prince William and Middleton share as a married couple is their sense of humor. But even before they tied the knot, it was already obvious that the Cambridges always enjoyed a good laugh.
Prince William Doesn’t Remember His First Meeting With Kate Middleton
Following their engagement, Prince William and Middleton sat down for an interview where they shared never before heard details about their relationship. The interviewer asked the couple to share with the viewers how they first met, but Prince William hilariously admitted that he could no longer remember all the details.
Luckily for him, Middleton still remembers everything as though it happened yesterday.
“William wasn't there for quite a bit of the time initially, he wasn't there from Fresher's Week, so it did take a bit of time for us to get to know each other. But we did become very close friends from quite early on,” Middleton said.

During the same interview, the Duchess of Cambridge also shut down the rumors that she has a photo of Prince William on her bedroom wall. The mom of three jokingly said that the Duke of Cambridge wishes it was his photo on Middleton’s wall, but it was actually a poster of Levi’s model.
But one of the most surprising things that Prince William and Middleton revealed during their engagement interview had to do with their breakup years ago. The Cambridges admitted that they split for quite some time and Middleton said that she didn’t like the idea initially.

However, the couple later realized that they needed the break in order to strengthen their relationship. And they never split ever since.
“We did split up for a bit. We were both very young, it was at university and we were both finding ourselves and being different characters and stuff. It was very much trying to find our own way and we were growing up. It was just a bit of space. It worked out for the better,” Prince William said.
“At the time I wasn't very happy about it but actually it made me a stronger person. You find out things about yourself that maybe you hadn't realized, or I think you can get quite consumed by a relationship when you are younger and I really valued that time for me as well, although I didn't think it at the time. Looking back on it,” Middleton chimed in.

Kate Middleton Handled Her Split From Prince William Well
While speaking with Mirror UK, royal expert Ingrid Seward commented on Prince William and Middleton’s split in 2007. She said that all the credit should be given to the Duchess of Cambridge because she dealt with the breakup well. But deep inside, she must have been extremely heartbroken.
“It shows Kate’s strength of character that she had the guts to get up, go out, look amazing and hang out at nightclubs as if she was the happiest person in the world. But we know she wasn’t,” Seward said.
