Prince William had been romantically linked to Rose Hanbury, who is reportedly a friend of his wife, Kate Middleton. Their rumored romance resurfaced as some royal fans discussed whether Rose would be at King Charles' coronation.
Prince William, Rose Hanbury Will Reunite At King Charles' Coronation?
Prince William might likely be seen with Rose Hanbury at King Charles' coronation because she will likely be there. Rose is married to David Chamondeley, 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley and the monarch's Lord-in-Waiting.
Also, Rose's son, Oliver, is among the King's pages, She Knows reported. He will join Prince George and two other boys in attending His Majesty during the ceremony.
As for the potential interaction between Prince William, Kate Middleton and Rose, an insider said the affair rumors were not true, and their relationship wasn't affected at all.
An insider told The Daily Beast:
"There has never been any enmity between Kate and Rose. The rumors were all a load of rubbish. The family are ancient allies of the Crown, and they will be there."
A close pal said it would be "unimaginable" if Rose wouldn't be there. Buckingham Palace has not confirmed whether she is on the invite list.
Also, her husband's new role means that "he will be present at all important state and royal occasions and can even stand in for the king at diplomatic events."
Prince William and Rose's families are expected to see a lot of each other in the future.
Prince William, Rose Hanbury's Affair Rumor Revisited
The rumors romantically linking the heir apparent to Rose started in 2019. Rose and Middleton reportedly had a falling out, and the Princess of Wales allegedly saw her as a "rural rival."
A report from The Sun claimed that the Duchess of Cambridge requested that Rose be "phased out" of their elite circle. UK journalist Giles Coren fueled the affair rumors by writing the following in a since-deleted tweet:
"Yes, it is an affair. I haven't read the piece, but I know about the affair. Everyone knows about the affair, darling."
The rumored affair also resurfaced in February. A report from Music Mundial claimed that Prince William spent Valentine's Day with his rumored mistress and away from his family.
An anonymous worker from a luxurious Italian food alleged that they spent a romantic dinner there and the royal gifted her an expensive and elegant pearl necklace to mark the event.
However, one should take the report with a grain of salt. Prince William had already denied the rumors. The future king also took the speculations seriously, even taking legal action against a publication for the "false" and "damaging" rumors.
A letter from Harbottle and Lewis law firm that represented Prince William read, per Daily Beast:
"In addition to being false and highly damaging, the publication of false speculation in respect of our clients' private life also constitutes a breach of his privacy pursuant to Article 8 of the European Convention to Human Rights."
