Kate Middleton and Prince William are very close to the Tindalls. The Prince of Wales has reportedly found a strong bond with his cousin-in-law Mike Tindall amid his rocky relationship with his younger brother, Prince Harry.
Prince William Receives Support From Mike Tindall Amid Prince Harry Rift?
Body language expert Judi James weighed in on Prince William and Mike's relationship. She told Express that the two men are "especially close."
"William has always seemed to be at his most relaxed when he spends family time at the Middletons and now the Tindalls seem to be supplying similar levels of family support," James said.
"Mike’s bonds with William have always looked strong but as Mike and Zara have grown their family the two men have appeared especially close in a way that can look parental or sibling-led from Mike."
Mike reportedly displays traits ideal for his role in Prince William's life. He brings fun but is also protective of the heir to the throne.
"As well as his playful, fun side he is also calm, stoic and protective, meaning William can enjoy the kind of relaxed fun he used to share with Harry but from a man who seems to feel genuinely loyal and protective of his wife's cousin," James said of the former rugby player.
Mike Tindall Siding With Prince William After Prince Harry's Attacks?
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex claimed in their 2021 bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey that a member of the royal family raised concern over their unborn child's skin color. Despite the drama the interview sparked, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee last year.
However, James noticed that Mike deliberately snubbed the royal couple. After the National Thanksgiving Service in honor of the Queen, the Sussexes waited for their car at the steps of St. Paul's Cathedral and approached the Tindalls, but only Zara acknowledged them.
"With Mike's closeness to William in mind, it also appeared to have created a bit of a dilemma as Harry stepped out into Zara's group as they waited for their transport. Zara looks happy to chat and even turns fully to talk to Harry here, who is looking anxious and keen to get into his own car," James previously said.
"Mike though remains facing forward, looking about and holding his order of service up with a look of awkwardness. In the end, he talks to Viscount Lindley, who turns his own back on Harry, cutting the two men off from Zara's conversation with Harry."
