Prince Harry blamed the press for why his relationship with ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davy didn't work out. However, British socialite and royal author Lady Colin Campbell said it was all his fault.
Chelsy Davy Reportedly Didn't Want A Life With Prince Harry
Campbell appeared on GB News, where she reacted to Prince Harry's witness statement blaming the press for his falling out with Davy. According to Prince William's younger brother, the unwanted media intrusion prompted Davy to decide that "a royal life was not for her" following repeated harassment from journalists, the BBC reported.
Dan Wootton said that Prince Harry was simply making an "excuse" because he allegedly wanted to always blame somebody else for his shortcomings.
Campbell said:
"Harry's perpetually disaffected. Harry also needs an excuse for why he is a failure and why his whole life has unraveled. But my understanding is that Chelsy Davy ... not only did she not want a royal life, but ultimately, she didn't want a life with Harry. That is the decisive factor."
She continued:
"Harry can't face the fact that it's not the paper that broke up his relationship with Chelsy Davy; it's that he didn't cut the mustard for her for the long term. That's what broke up the relationship."
Royal biographer Phil Dampier said that Davy was Prince Harry's TOTGA or "the one that got away." Dampier believed Prince Harry would have been happier if he ended up with Davy instead of Meghan Markle.
Chelsy Davy Is Reportedly The Right Girl For Prince Harry
Dampier wasn't the only one who believed that Chelsy Davy was the one for Prince Harry. English journalist and royal author Andrew Morton previously told New Idea that the Zimbabwean beauty is the right woman for King Charles' youngest son.
"Chelsy could have been the right girl for him. They spent a long time together, but she just couldn't take the publicity."
He added:
"Now, by contrast, we have someone who is an actress, who was used to treading the red carpet, who [is] in the tradition of a Grace Kelly kind of character. Because after all, royalty is about theatre, and Meghan [knows] all about that."
Do you agree with the experts that Chelsy Davy would have been a better match for Prince Harry than Meghan Markle?
