Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been featured on King Charles III’s official coronation program along with the royal family despite the tension and feud between the two families. A body language expert sees this move as making the Duchess of Sussex the “star of the show” while downgrading Kate Middleton.
Prince Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior royals in 2020, leaving the U.K. and moving to the U.S.
Since then, a lot has happened between the two families, so it’s quite a surprise to many that they’re still part of the official coronation program, with some alluding it may be an olive branch from King Charles.
The Photo in Question
The photo in question shows the Sussexes with the monarch, Camilla, Queen Consort, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and the latter couple’s three kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
It was taken in the gardens of Clarence House during His Majesty’s 70th birthday in 2018, explaining the absence of the Sussex kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, who were born in 2019 and 2021, respectively.

Body language expert Judi James described the snap as a “fond, loving, and closely-bonded family” to The Mirror—a far cry from their relationship today.
Kate Middleton Allegedly Received ‘Body Language Downgrade’
James added that with the picture, Kate received a “body language downgrade” as she stood to the side and looked outward.
“She appears stripped of her current status as the stand-out star of the Firm,” the expert explained.
Alternatively, Meghan caught the eye by bending forward while laughing and sharing the happy moment with Camilla and Princess Charlotte, looking very relaxed.
