Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were spotted for the first time after the release of Spare Wednesday. The royal couple stepped out for a date night, but there are speculations that the outing was another PR stunt, a report says.
Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Used Date Night As A PR Stunt?
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have kept a low profile after Prince Harry dropped his memoir. However, they turned heads when they were spotted at an exclusive $4,200-a-year private members club in Los Angeles Wednesday.
While some were thrilled to see them, one claimed it was a PR stunt. Pam from New Jersey branded questioned the sighting and said, per Express:
"Well since we know the paparazzi that took the picks are on speed dial, it was all a PR stunt. Why go to eat two hours from your home? On a weeknight. Where are your kids? Everything with them is a stunt."
Another wondered what happened to Prince Harry and Markle's desire for privacy as they returned to their old ways of exposing themselves.
However, Jenny from North Carolina and Stella from Virginia have another take on the sighting. For them, it wasn't a big deal at all.
Stella told Express:
"We make nothing of it. Celebrities are photographed all the time in California. It's a non-story."
Jenny added, echoing the same sentiment:
"I couldn't care less what publicity appearances Harry and Meghan make. Since there is no notion of royalty in the USA they are like any Tom, Dick or Jane."
Did Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Leak Their Frogmore Cottage Eviction?
Prince Harry and Markle's date night happened shortly before reports that they were evicted from their home in London, Frogmore Cottage. Royal expert Kinsey Schofield admitted she wondered where the report came from.
The To Di For Daily podcast host said the timing was "very strange" as it happened when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's popularity was an all-time low.
Schofield told GB News per Express:
"The timing on this is all very strange and I do wonder if this is a story leaked by the Sussexes to try and garner sympathy after several really hard weeks of criticism."
She added:
"Between Spare and South Park, they have taken some severe hits lately and it does make you wonder if this story popped up out of nowhere for people to feel sorry for them."
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have confirmed that they were asked to vacate Frogmore Cottage. King Charles is reportedly planning to offer the property to Prince Andrew, who is expected to be evicted from the Royal Lodge.
