Prince Harry is reportedly not close to his stepmother and several sources claim there is tension between them. However, despite that, Meghan Markle's husband is expected to bow down to King Charles' wife, Camilla.
Prince Harry Has To Bow Down To Camilla As Royal Tradition Dictates
"The family will now have to bow or curtsy to King Charles and Queen [Consort] Camilla," a well-placed palace source told Page Six.
The outlet noted that he was expected to show courtesy to the former Duchess of Cornwall Thursday when they gathered at Balmoral following the Queen's death on Sept. 8 at age 96.
Prince Harry looked distraught as he was driven into the gates of Balmoral hours after his grandmother's passing.
Majesty managing editor Joe Little also said the same thing. According to the royal expert, it's a protocol for the royals to do so.
"It would be the protocol to bow to the new king and Queen," Little told Page Six Friday. "Whether that happened under such circumstances [on Thursday or Friday morning] is debatable, but any time the royal family meets the new king and queen, the done thing would be to bow or curtsy to them."
Prince Harry And Camilla's Relationship Examined
Page Six previously reported that the Duke of Sussex is "no fan" of Camilla due to her affair with his dad while King Charles was married to their mom, Princess Diana. In July, royal commentator Neil Sean claimed that Prince Harry launched a PR stunt to steal the spotlight from his stepmom who was celebrating her 75th birthday.
"As we know, Prince Harry's not of high profile in monarchy anymore. He chose to move away from that particular life," Sean said on his YouTube channel. "But of course, he still would have access to exactly what was planned and how it was planned, and also, more importantly, he would have seen these particular events being played out across the media here in the U.K. and around the world regarding Camilla."
"Insiders told me that this is no real sort of coincidence," Sean said referring to Prince Harry's recent headlines. "It's more a case of making sure that he takes the focus off Camilla."
Sean added that Prince Harry "still holds a lot of disregard" for his stepmother. He likened Prince Harry's move to a PR stunt against Camilla. But in his opinion, the queen consort won.
"But I think at the battle of the PR right now, I would say that Camilla is winning because she's dignified, gracious, respectful and actually, doing some very good work on behalf of the British monarchy for so long," Sean continued.
