Pokemon The Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution has fans excited and cautious since the only trailer revealed thus far is completely CG. While the recent Pokemon films have used a bit of CGI, they mostly use 2D animation and are gorgeous watches because of it. As fans wait for more details on the third part of this Pokemon trilogy, they can now legally download the second installment in the franchise; Pokemon The Movie: The Power of Us.
Originally known as Everyone's Story in Japan, The Power of Us details how Ash meets Lugia in this, for the lack of a better word, universe. Both Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution and The Power of Us are part of a new universe that has Ash go on new adventures without the baggage from the anime, which started with I Choose You.
Available for download on Amazon, iTunes, Google Play, and more, this is the English dub of the movie. While the music is a bit dull, fans kind of prefer the English version since the Japanese dub has different names for the Pokemon.
Though a bit cheesy in some areas, The Power of Us is considered to be a pretty good film for Pokemon fans and has some stunning animation. Some even prefer it to the current Sun and Moon anime, which is still in the same continuity as the long-running anime and debuted a much simpler art style that also has smoother animation, which has made for some spectacular fights.
Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us tells the story of Ash and Pikachu as they journey to a small seaside town filled with a diverse set of characters, including a young athlete, a compulsive liar, a shy researcher, a bitter old woman, and a little girl with a big secret. Fans can purchase this digitally now.
