Is Pokemon Horizons Ending Soon? Latest Episode Drops Hint
Pokémon Horizons is a sequel to the original Pokémon series that debuted in 2023. After Ash’s journey, Pokémon Horizons shifts the focus to Liko and her group’s quest to reach Laqua by collecting the Six Heroes.
Episode 81’s final moments suggest that the end is approaching for the series, as they’re finally nearing their goal.
Recent episodes of Pokémon Horizons show the heroes exploring Area Zero, a dangerous place in Paldea where Paradox Pokémon are known to roam.
According to Briar, both past and future Paradox Pokémon are often spotted in Area Zero. He also leads them to where he usually sees Entei, the fifth Pokémon they’re searching for.
As it turns out, that Pokémon is actually the Gouging Fire, the past Paradox version of Entei, which means its weaknesses differ from those of the legendary Fire-type Pokémon.
Defeating it wasn’t easy, of course. But thanks to Dot’s ever-reliable tactical skills, they managed to overcome Gouging Fire.
The fifth Pokémon, belonging to the Ancient Adventurer Lucius, agrees to become Liko’s partner upon its defeat. However, instead of going into the ancient Poké Ball, the other four Heroes emerge and summon the Black Rayquaza.
The information from Serebii supports this theory, based on the titles posted in the episode listings on the site.
According to the fan site, episode 85 is titled "Arrival! The Paradise of Laqua," indicating that they’re finally reaching their destination. However, it doesn’t end there.
Episode 86’s title, "The Rising Volt Tacklers VS The Explorers!" suggests that a battle between the two groups will take place at this stage of the series.
What’s Next for Pokemon Horizons
With the possibility of Pokemon Horizons: The Series ending, there’s also a chance that another journey for the Rising Volt Tacklers to begin soon after.
After all, even if they soon reach the paradise of Laqua and the Paldea saga comes to an end, there are still plenty of regions to explore, many more Pokémon to meet, and countless secrets yet to be discovered.
There isn’t yet an announcement for what the creators of the series’ next plan will be. However, there is something exciting coming for English dub fans of the series.
Since season 2 of Pokemon Horizons is only available in Japan and UK for now, fans are expecting the second season, titled: Pokémon Horizons: Season 2 - The Search for Laqua will be coming to Netflix this February 7.
