Paris Jackson has responded to the backlash against her performing on the day of Michael Jackson's death anniversary.

This coming June 25 will mark the 16th anniversary of the passing of the late legendary icon Michael Jackson. Up to this day, his legacy is still being celebrated by many fans worldwide.

What is Paris Jackson's Reaction to the Backlash?

In a post on her Instagram Stories, Paris addressed the backlash against her performing on the day of her father Michael Jackson's death anniversary.

It was announced that Paris and the Manchester Orchestra are part of Incubus' Morning View + The Hits tour. They are scheduled to perform in Nashville this June 25.

"So people are mad again. This time, I think, I guess one of the tour dates I’m supposed to be going out on tour with Incubus and Manchester Orchestra happens to be June 25, which is a very negative anniversary for me in my life and my family," Paris said.

So, what I guess I have to explain to these people is that when you're not headlining these shows, you don’t pick what date you perform."

Paris added, "It’s just me and my acoustic guitar and my sound guy, who happens to be my fiancé. So we’re gonna be in a soccer mom van."

She also shot down any possibility that she is rescheduling the date, "So, I’m gonna tell them, ’Sorry, guys, we can’t perform on this date?’ F*ck you."

Are There Events Happening on Michael Jackson's Death Anniversary?

The Michael Jackson estate has not announced any plans for a major event that will commemorate the 16th death anniversary of the late King of Pop.

Fans will likely do some celebration activities themselves, as Michael's global fan base continues to be active to this day.

A biopic is also currently in the works, with the Michael Jackson estate involved in the process. Production already took place last year, but there have been reports that the movie might be split into two parts.
