The treasure hunt is far from over, and Outer Banks Season 4 Part 2 has several questions to answer after a series of massive cliffhangers in Part 1.
The Pogues are back for more action and adventure, but before fans see the entirety of the fourth season, their favorite show has followed the Netflix trend of splitting popular series into two parts.
The first part, released on October 10, featured the first five episodes. Although that’s only half of the fourth season, it has already put viewers on the edge of their seats.
From the big revelation about JJ’s father (Rudy Pankow) to the fates of Sarah (Madelyn Cline) and Pope (Jonathan Daviss), here’s everything you need to know about Outer Banks Season 4 Part 2.
What Happened in Outer Banks Season 4 Part 1?
Warning: Major spoilers ahead. Read at your own risk.
As teased in the Season 3 finale's fast-forward, the Pogues brought Poguelandia 2.0 to life after obtaining the El Dorado treasure and returning to North Carolina. However, while their bait, tackle, and boat tour shop thrived for a time, they eventually ran out of money, thanks to JJ.
Consequently, they accepted Wes’ (David Jensen) gig to find the Blackbeard treasure in exchange for $50,000.
But when he died under mysterious circumstances, he left a letter for “Master JJ Maybank,” encouraging him to talk to his (real?) father and ask about “Albatross.” From there, a big secret was revealed.
It turned out that “Albatross” was the name of the boat on which Larissa Genrette died years ago, and she was JJ’s real mother.
This means that JJ is Wes’ grandson, and Chandler (J. Anthony Crane) is his biological dad. But this isn’t the only reason viewers are eagerly awaiting Outer Banks Season 4 Part 2.
The first part ended with the Pogues seemingly losing the treasure hunt. Pope and Sarah volunteered to go down into the depths below the church to find the treasure.
Lightner (Rigo Sanchez) and his boss, Dalia (Pollyanna McIntosh), followed them and managed to grab the secret scroll stowed away in the coffin of Blackbeard’s navigator after John B (Chase Stokes) decided not to shoot them.
However, Pope and Sarah found something livelier in the underground crypt—rats! Unfortunately, those were real rats, not CGI rats.
“It’s called ratacombs for a reason. Those rats are real,” Daviss told Tudum.
Sadly, as the credits rolled, the two were trapped under the crypt while the water continuously rose higher.
What to Expect from Outer Banks Season 4 Part 2?
After that bombshell revelation, Outer Banks Season 4 Part 2 is expected to feature a major flashback explaining how Larissa died and how Luke ended up raising JJ.
With Chandler giving off major villain vibes and the Genrette family curse, JJ is now in more danger than ever.
Of course, although it seems like Pope and Sarah have no way out, there’s no reason to believe they won’t survive the crypt.
One way or another, these two will get out alive and continue the treasure hunt. They may go after Lightner, though doing so might only put them in more danger.
They may also seek to avenge Terrance (Terence Rosemore), who died at Lightner’s hand when he jumped in to protect Cleo (Carlacia Grant) during Lightner’s attack.
When will Outer Banks Season 4 Part 2 be released?
