What is Outcome About?
Outcome will see Reeves playing a beloved Hollywood star named Reef Hawk, who must unleash his inner demons after getting extorted with a mysterious video that may destroy his image and end his career.
Reef will get the help of his friends, Kyle (Diaz) and Xander (Bomer), alongside his crisis lawyer Ira (Hill) to embark on a different kind of soul-searching journey that will see him making amends with anyhow he could have done wrong in his to know who the blackmailer is.
Talking about the movie during the press day, Hill said Outcome is “a metaphor for what we all go through living on social media.”
“Social media has made us obsessed with what people we don’t know think of us, instead of caring about what the people who know us best think of us,” he said.
Who’s in the Cast of Outcome?
Reeves leads the cast of Outcome, joined by Diaz, Bomer, and Hill.
The film also features a star-studded ensemble, including Martin Scorsese, Susan Lucci, Laverne Cox, David Spade, Atsuko Okatsuka, Roy Wood Jr., Kaia Gerber, and Ivy Wolk.
How Did Jonah Hill Transform for Outcome?
Apple TV has released a first look at Outcome, showcasing a transformed Hill, who looks nearly unrecognizable with a bald head, a bushy beard, and the significant weight loss he previously debuted on Cut Off.
Hill has been open about the body image struggles he has faced publicly. “I don't think I ever took my shirt off in a pool until I was in my mid-30s, even in front of family and friends,” he wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post. “That probably would have happened sooner if my childhood insecurities hadn’t been exacerbated by years of public mockery about my body by the press and interviewers.”
From there, Hill began to “finally love and accept” himself and encouraged his followers to do the same.
“You're wonderful and awesome and perfect,” he continued. “All my love.”
When will Outcome be Released?
Following the 2018 film Mid90s and the 2022 documentary Stutz, Outcome marks Hill’s third film as a director.
It also serves as Diaz’s second comeback film after Netflix’s Back in Action, ending a 10-year hiatus.
Diaz, Hill, Bomer, and Reeves were spotted working on the movie’s set in Los Angeles in May.
Outcome is now set to premiere on April 10 on Apple TV+.
