The story of the reincarnated Hoshino twins continues in Oshi No Ko Season 3! It was only in October that they announced the third season was in production, but some newly released promotional videos and images have now revealed its release window.

Written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari, Oshi No Ko released its final chapter in November 2024.

With the source material complete and Season 3 underway, there’s a high chance the series will receive a full adaptation, something fans of Oshi No Ko are truly excited about!

Oshi No Ko Season 3’s Release Window

A new teaser trailer for Oshi No Ko Season 3 was released on February 2, 2025, along with other exciting promotional materials, including a visual of Ruby and another featuring the revived B-Komachi group.

According to the trailer and the announcement posted on Oshi No Ko’s official website, fans expect the third season to air sometime in 2026.

The 31-second trailer, titled “Ruby’s Side,” features Ruby narrating while unsettling music plays in the background, a mood that’s prevalent in the psychological drama and thriller anime.

With the new trailer and teaser images highlighting Aqua’s talented sister, the first part of Season 3 will likely focus on Ruby’s perspective. Season 2 ended with Ruby processing her grief after learning about the death of her first love, so the upcoming episodes may continue exploring that.

The third season will mostly cover content from the manga, starting from Chapter 81, which marks the beginning of the Mainstay arc, followed by the Scandal and Movie arcs.

Returning to animate Season 3 is Studio Doga Kobo, with director Daisuke Hiramaki and assistant directors Ciao Nekotomi and Kuniyasu Nishina.

Oshi No Ko is halfway through its anime adaptation, and since it’s a popular franchise not just in Japan but internationally, a full adaptation seems highly likely. Beyond the manga and TV series, it also has music videos and live-action projects that became a hit with fans, further strengthening the chances of Akasaka’s work being fully animated.

However, there’s another Akasaka creation that fans believe also deserves a complete adaptation.

Aka Akasaka’s other popular series, Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, is another manga that deserves a full adaptation, and many fans think so.

The hilarious rom-com anime debuted in 2019 and was immediately followed by a sequel, Kaguya-sama: Love Is War?, in 2020. The third season, Kaguya-sama: Love Is War – Ultra Romantic, was released in 2022, along with the film Kaguya-sama: Love Is War – The First Kiss That Never Ends, which premiered later that same year.

Some fans believe the film serves as a good ending for the anime, but many anime-only viewers still want to see how the story continues for supporting characters like Yu Ishigami, Ai Hayasaka, and Chika Fujiwara.

As for whether the remaining source material is enough for another full season, around 100+ chapters are still available for adaptation. However, with its animation studio, A-1 Pictures, handling multiple projects at the moment, a continuation may not be possible for now.

Still, many are hoping that after the Oshi No Ko anime concludes, Kaguya-sama: Love Is War Season 4 will be the next Akasaka work to receive an adaptation.
