What Happened to Hikaru Kamiki and Ai’s Relationship?

Before everything fell apart, Hikaru Kamiki and Ai Hoshino had an incredibly tight relationship, as if they had their own world despite dating at such a young age.

They were somehow similar, which made them relate to each other’s burdens. It was as if they were relying on one another in their attempt to find true happiness and love.

However, Hikaru felt that he was relying on Ai one-sidedly and that she wasn’t truly in love with him, especially after she suddenly broke up with him.

He also believed Ai couldn’t reject him because she didn’t know how to handle herself in a toxic industry.

Their relationship was neither exciting nor dramatic but was more realistic, with Hikaru miserably clinging to the love of his life.

When Ai suddenly broke up with Hikaru, his world fell apart, leading to his decision to leak not only Ai’s pregnancy but also her address to the same disgruntled fan who killed Gorou Amemiya and left him in a dark place for 16 years.

Oshi no Ko Chapter 154 Reveals Real Reason Behind Hikaru and Ai’s Breakup

When Ai broke up with Hikaru, she told him it was better for them not to see each other anymore, despite revealing her pregnancy.

She also refused Hikaru’s marriage proposal, explaining that she couldn’t love him and that being together with him forever would be too much for her.

Ai also mentioned Hikaru’s child with Airi, saying their situation would be too much for her to bear, which significantly plunged Hikaru into depression.

However, Ai’s decision to break up with Hikaru is rooted in the reality that he is already at his limit and on the verge of breaking, as revealed in chapter 154 of the manga.

In a video, Ai told Aqua that Hikaru had been afflicted by the dark side of the entertainment industry and had become dependent on her.

She feared that if she stayed with Hikaru while pregnant, he would be crushed by the weight of life even faster.

In regret, Ai revealed that she actually wanted to be with Hikaru forever, carry his burden, and raise their children together.

For Ai, Hikaru was the first person she ever wanted to love, even though she didn’t fully understand what love was.

Unfortunately, Ai died because Hikaru wanted to scare her and understand the despair he felt after their breakup.
