New Oi! Tonbo Trailer Highlights Main Cast
Oi! Tonbo is an upcoming sports anime series that’s based on an ongoing manga by Ken Kawasaki. The anime adaptation was announced back in May 2023.
The series follows Kazuyoshi Igarashi, a pro golfer who is disqualified after a certain incident. Following his disqualification, Igarashi moves to the Tokara Islands in Kagoshima prefecture to lie low.
Igarashi can’t escape golf it seems. There, he meets Tonbo Oi, a girl who plays every day on a makeshift golf course on the island. She soon shows incredible golfing skills.
Oi and Igarashi are shown in the anime’s latest trailer, which you can watch here:
Tonbo Oi is voiced by rookie voice actress Rika Hayashi. This is her first major role as her other anime credits include voicing minor characters in shows like Summer Time Rendering and RE-MAIN.
Meanwhile, Igarashi is voiced by Hiroki Tochi, a veteran anime VA. Tochi is best known as the voice of Baldroy in Black Butler, Heiter in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, and Maine in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
