NU’EST is officially closing the curtains after 10 years of performing together.
Fans of second-generation K-pop groups surely know how NU’EST turned the tables with the members’ visuals and talents. In fact, all five members – JR, Aron, Baekho, Minhyun, and Ren – were tapped to appear in several music videos before their debut.
So when they officially took center stage, the K-pop boy group received overwhelming support from fans, leading them to release more music and projects. Overall, they released four studio albums, eight EPs, 17 singles, and 27 music videos.
Unfortunately, the group will no longer drop new music soon as they decided to disband after 10 years.

Aron, JR, Ren Leave Pledis Entertainment
On February 28, Pledis Entertainment released a statement on WeVerse, confirming that NU’EST members JR, Aron, and Ren decided not to renew their contract with them after nearly 10 years. The five members’ contract will expire on March 14, and only Baekho and Minhyun will continue working with the agency.
“Our company and the members of NU’EST went through careful consideration and discussions on the future of the individual members and on what would be the best path for everyone and how they can present their best selves. We respect and support the decisions of every member, as they are the result of careful and extensive consideration and discussions.”

Pledis Entertainment also thanked the boy group for doing their best as K-pop idols over the past ten years. The agency noted that the group will still release an album under the company in March.
While it did not mention whether the group would finally disband after the release, the members’ handwritten letters seemingly confirmed what NU’EST’s future holds for them.
NU’EST Confirms Disbandment
Following Pledis Entertainment’s disbandment, members shared handwritten letters where they hinted at the official disbandment after the three members’ departure.
NU’EST leader, JR, expressed his gratitude and love toward their fandom, L.O.Λ.E, who offered unmatched support until the band’s last day.
“I intend to keep piling up the experience properly and sincerely, just as I have been doing until now. When the spring snow blossoms and a nice breeze begins to blow, I’ll greet you again with good news. This was NU’EST’s JR,” he said.
Meanwhile, Aron apologized to their fans and asked them to continue supporting the members. Ren, Minhyun, and Baekho also bid goodbye to their supporters.
