Ruling Eminem out of Gizelle Bryant’s playlist is no laughing matter. If anything, the Real Housewives of Potomac star’s kids insisted on it!

And no, it’s not a case of R-18 content with Slim Shady’s lyrics. Here’s why Eminem’s songs are the only ones you won’t hear from her car.

During the Love Hotel premiere screening on April 27, the reality star breaks surprising news: this mom of three does not want Shady on the radio when her daughters are jamming on the road.

“Oh my God, no. And it’s funny, because if [Eminem] comes on the radio, in the car, my kids would be like, ‘That’s Eminem. Turn it,’” Bryant told PEOPLE, “My kids are on top of it. They know. No, no Eminem for us.”

Gizelle’s longtime feud with the 15-time Grammy winner dates back to December 2023, which involved a trademark dispute over the rapper’s stage name, “Shady.”

Gizelle and the Real Housewives of Potomac cast member Robyn Dixon launched their podcast, Reasonably Shady, in 2021, in an attempt to trademark their work, which didn’t sit right with the real “Shady” in business. Here’s what went down.

Eminem vs Gizelle Bryant Lawsuit Explained

Eminem, whose stage names “Slim Shady” and “Shady” have followed him since 1999, filed an opposition, considering the circumstances.

While the GOAT rapper believes his brand would be “damaged” if the Real Housewives stars issue the trademark, the reality stars begged to differ as they have continued to sell their podcast products, such as water bottles, lip gloss, sweatshirts, hats, jackets, and socks.

To Eminem, the podcast’s name could “cause confusion in the minds of consumers,” especially since Bryant and Dixon’s merch contains the word “Shady” in it.

To Gizelle and Robyn, the podcast name was inspired by the Real Housewives franchise and its iconic shenanigans, “Look, I own my shadiness. I come from shady parents, it’s just natural.”

The rapper reminded his fans of who he was in his Houdini song. Released in 2024, the piece was for him to take back the moniker he was best known for.

“I find it to be foolishness. I want it to be over, for sure,” Bryant said in a recent interview with PEOPLE.

However, despite the ongoing lawsuit, Reasonably Shady is still “up and running,” Bryant explained, “And we’re like 10 million downloads strong in our fifth season.”

“The Eminem lawsuit is still going,” Bryant said, “We’re at the tail end, but you have to understand, it’s like a Patent and Trade issue, and they have their own timeline for when it’s over. So we’re on their timeline.”

The rapper's legal team wasn't going to let this slip out of their hands, earning Eminem his legal victory over the trademark by leaving him untouched against Bryant and Dixon's request for deposition.

Meanwhile, the Real Housewives spin-off, Love Hotel, premiered on April 27 on Bravo. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
