According to journalist Jeff Sneider in The Hot Mic podcast, Marvel Studios is currently eyeing two young stars to play Rogue and Beast in the X-Men reboot.

He heard that Marty Supreme star Odessa A'zion is being eyed to play Rogue, while A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms star Peter Claffey is "in the mix" for the role of Beast.

So far, Marvel Studios has not commented on the rumored casting, but Sneider explained that his scoop came from the same source who has shared with him accurate Marvel casting tidbits in the past.

A'zion is a rising star who recently received BAFTA and Actor Award nominations for her supporting performance in Marty Supreme. She also stars in the HBO comedy series I Love LA. If she ends up getting cast, she will follow the footsteps of Anna Paquin, who played Rogue in the Fox movies.

Claffey is known for playing Ser Duncan "Dunk" the Tall in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. He is a former professional rugby union player and retired from the sport to pursue acting. If he ends up playing the Beast, he will be following the footsteps of Kelsey Grammer and Nicholas Hoult.

So far, plot details regarding the X-Men MCU reboot are still being kept under wraps, and it is expected to take place some time after Avengers: Secret Wars.

Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier is currently attached to helm the project. Beef creator Lee Sung Jin and The Bear co-showrunner Joanna Calo are writing the screenplay.

Last year, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige gave a tease on what fans should expect from their reboot of the X-Men property.

"We had a great experience with him on Thunderbolts*. And if you saw that movie, what he did with those character interactions, he also has his pulse on, shall we say, a younger demographic," he said.

"He’s younger than me for sure, but he’s tapped into that in a way that I think was important for Thunderbolts*, much more important for X-Men. Because X-Men, as it was in the comics, will be a very youth-oriented, focused, and cast movie."
