My Hero Academia: Two Heroes
My Hero Academia creator Kohei Horikoshi has paid another homage to Star Wars again and this time, the reference is shown in the cover art of My Hero Academia Vol. 20, and fans are loving the fantastic Easter egg.
The cover art features a colorful look at a ton of My Hero Academia characters but it's also a subtle nod to Star Wars: A New Hope. As you can see below, the artwork looks similar to the poster for the original Star Wars film. Both images feature their leads standing spread eagle as they hold up their iconic weapons. Just like how Luke has his lightsaber up, Izuku's finger is raised high.
While Horikoshi's art doesn't exactly match Lucasfilm's poster, the image also features a collage of characters and the U.A. Academy can be seen in the same background position where the buildings appear in the
Star Wars
image. I also appreciate the incredible details of the artwork.
Hirokoshi is clearly a big fan of
Star Wars
and he even referenced the epic science fantasy a few times in the manga. He also created a poster for
Star Wars: The Last Jedi
before so don't be surprised if the manga artist includes another Star Wars reference in his top-tier series.
